Moving from Joomla: your properties come along

Your agent site runs on Joomla, the properties come out of a component, and every update raises the same question. We rebuild the site in the new system, bring the portfolio across via OpenImmo and switch over once you agree. Anyone working with our Joomla predecessor today comes across the same way.

Why the old road is gone

Our predecessor product ran on Joomla, and over a hundred estate agent offices still work with it today. It was not the product that reached its limit, it was the ground beneath it: the market consolidated around a different system, and the foundation went with it.

We drew a conclusion from that. SES RealEstate has no third-party platform in its delivery path, no extension ecosystem, no theme vendor, no editorial backend on the web. One system, one data set, one party responsible. That holds for any Joomla installation, not just for our own.

How the move works

Four colleagues along a long desk, each working on a different step of the move

1. Survey

We look at your installation: pages, menu, design, property component, portal connections. After that you know what fits into one day and what does not.

2. Property data

Your portfolio comes across via OpenImmo, with pictures, floor plans, energy certificate and mandatory disclosures. Our predecessor product exports that format itself, no extra tool is needed.

3. Rebuild

The AI assistant reads your site and rebuilds it in the new system: pages, menu, colours, fonts. A human checks every step.

4. Sign-off

You see the finished site under a test address before anything is switched over. Only once you agree does your domain point at it.

What you keep

The portfolio. Properties, pictures, descriptions and mandatory disclosures come across in full.

The portals. The transfer keeps running via OpenImmo, out of the new system.

Your address. Domain and appearance stay yours, only what is underneath changes.

What changes

No editorial backend on the web. The delivered website only renders. There is no address where anyone could log in.

No extensions. What the software does comes from the software, not from third-party building blocks that somebody has to keep current.

One data set. Property, website, exposé and contacts live in the same system. Whatever you change in the program is online at once.

What we do not promise

One day applies to a typical agent site: home page, a few subpages, property list, contact, legal texts. An installation grown over the years with a shop, a members' area or two hundred posts is something we look at beforehand and then tell you what it really costs.

What will not come across from Joomla we say beforehand rather than afterwards. Extensions we do not have an equivalent for have no replacement in the new system, and your own templates we rebuild instead of carrying them over. Both are on a list after the survey, before you decide.

The old addresses of your properties and pages change, because the new system forms its own paths. We set up redirects so that links from outside and results in Google still arrive. Where a page is dropped with no successor, the redirect leads to the nearest one.

We do not name a date we cannot keep. That happened to us once, and a second time would be final.

See for yourself

This site runs on SES RealEstate itself, with a demo portfolio of 62 properties. Search, exposés and map are the same building blocks your site gets after the move.

Please note: All properties on this site are fictitious. Addresses, prices, floor areas and energy data do not describe any actual properties, enquiries are not processed and no contract is concluded. What you see is our software's interface in action: search, listing pages, shortlist and map work exactly as they will later with real properties.
